Since we get a lot of the same questions in our ask box, we thought it would be a good idea to make a FAQ page. Hopefully all your questions can be answered here, but if not feel free to ask in our ask box. 

Q: How can I join? 

A: We look for new members at the beginning of September each year, usually we go around to art classes in  high schools around Oakville, and we post on this blog. Right now we are not looking for any new members, so check back in September. 

Q: When does the council run? 

A: The council runs from September to June like a normal school year. 

Q: Why is there a youth council?

A: We are a collective of Oakville youth who are interested in creating an art scene within our community. We will orgainze exhibitions, publications, online & offline events. By pushing the boundaries of what is considered to be art, we hope to transform Oakville into a forward thinking environment. This is our mission statement. lol. 

Q: What gallery is the youth council affiliated with?

A: Oakville Galleries, a contemporary art gallery in Oakville. You can visit their website, http://www.oakvillegalleries.com/

Q: How old are the members of the youth council?

A: The age of our members ranges from 14-18. 

Q: How long has the youth council been running? 

A: The youth council started in January 2010.
